V Magazine #76, Sports Issue: Azealia Banks

Issue: V Magazine #76
Stylist: Nicola Formichetti
Editorial: "One in a Million"
Artist Featured: Azealia Banks

Music talent Azealia Banks is hot on the scene. I did not know of her until I watched the Blumarine FW 2012 fashion show and heard her music with such powerful lyrics and sexy beats. I kept asking myself "What is the name of that song?" and "Who is the artist?" I quickly found out that the song is entitled "212" which is a New York City telephone area code for the borough of Manhattan where Azealia Banks migrated to. She brags and proudly raps about this uptown, prestigious area. She was born in Harlem, New York and she brings a realness and rawness to the music industry that sets her apart. She is a rapper, singer and lyricist that is also not ashamed to be honest about her bi-sexuality. She is new on the scene but is more of a success in Europe than in the US which is probably why I haven't heard of her until now.

She is the winner of a 2012 Billboard Award in the category of New Style Icon. She has been featured already in some pretty established fashion magazines and she rocks the fashion editorial in V Magazine's Sports Issue (#76) that hit newsstands in March 2012.

See Azealia perform her hit "212" at designer Karl Lagerfeld's house in Paris just days after her hit single was featured in the Thierry Mugler menswear fashion show in a hot remix version of the song. This same single in it's album version was also featured as the main song for Blumarine's Fall 2012 fashion show during Milan Fashion Week. Just something about her music and style that fits so nicely right now in the fashion world of runway couture.

Blumarine FW 2012: Snow Bunny

Planning a ski trip this winter? If you are, then here are some snow bunny outfits that will surely inspire you! Blumarine has added to their Fall/Winter 2012 collection nice white fur-trimmed snow boots with all white fitted outfits. Very chic and trendy adding the silver metallic fingerless gloves. Love love love.

Blumarine FW 2012: Neon Fur

Head Blumarine designer Anna Molinari sure has an eye for trends. She carries the neon color theme that is so popular right now for summer into the winter using bright orange, hot pink, sunny yellow, purplish fuschia and intense teal. Standing apart from other designers, she has decided to be bold and daring by using fluorescent Mongolian fur for the Blumarine Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Clever, fierce ... and so urban!

I would easily wear every single outfit featured in this runway show. Some of the urban jewelry pieces are over the top but do resemble some signature pieces that I already have in my jewelry wardrobe that I could easily pair with her clothing pieces. The silver metallic ankle boots are just the right touch. I am so glad that Anna Molinari is still carrying the theme of monochrome dressing into this collection from her previous fall/winter collection because I think the concept of monochrome dressing will be around for awhile.

The fierce style presented in this fashion show, however, is not for the shy, quiet girl, but instead is for the daring diva who likes to turn heads and is confident in her beauty and her sex appeal. You really have to know who you are to walk into a room wearing these bold looks.

Yes, neon in the winter in fluorescent Mongolian fur ... so fresh ... and so now!

Blumarine FW 2011: Anais Mali & Chanel Iman

Blumarine gets it right every season ... especially for their Fall/Winter collections. The military inspired fashion from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection showcases a monochromatic style to military chic. The black knee-length boots and knuckle rings give each outfit that they are paired with extra coolness. The runway music is always rocking to hot, sexy beats that make a powerful statement especially when you also take notice of the avid use of Victoria's Secret models. You see Victoria's Secret angel Chanel Iman and Victoria's Secret model Anais Mali used repeatedly on their runway as well as many other models associated to Victoria's Secret. You even forget the under-representation of black models in today's fashion world when you watch a Blumarine fashion show because they obviously put effort into fair representation.

Blumarine is one of my favorite design houses because they give you fashion with the perfect balance of diversity, youthfulness and daring sex appeal. I immensely enjoy runway shows such as this one that also cleverly uses rhythmic pop and urban music to heighten the experience and to make a statement. Remixed and flipped ... pop, rock, techno, r&b, hip-hop ... old school, new school ... simple yet stylish ... modern yet classic. Love the way they thread bits of Beyonce & Jay-Z's song "Crazy in Love" throughout the show. Perfect. Blumarine fashion shows are clearly steps ahead of the rest!

Anais Mali and Chanel Iman strut down the Blumarine FW 2011 runway with such confidence and great stage presence. I just get a good feel from the entire cast of Blumarine runway models as if there is a special uniqueness to the brand that embraces everyone with love and acceptance.

Halle Berry for FHM Magazine

Halle Berry for FHM Magazine
November 2003 Issue

Halle Berry in boxing gear for FHM Magazine back in the day representing age 37 ... in 2003! Today at age 45 soon to be 46, she still is the most beautiful actress model ever! Super sexy and alluring for FHM Magazine and giving us much attitude and personality! She sure knows how to throw herself into a character (with the exception of Cat Woman ... ha ha!). Nonetheless, just a magical boxing editorial! Yes, an oldie but goodie for sure. Halle Berry truly looks as if she never ages.
