The annual MET Gala is always a much talked-about event in the fashion industry. It is held every year in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City to mark the grand opening of the museum’s annual themed fashion event. This year’s theme was "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between: which brought much attention to the fashion design house of Comme des Garcons.
Comme des Garçons, in French means "like boys," is a Japanese fashion label founded by and headed by Rei Kawakubo. Comme des Garçons is based in Tokyo and also in the prestigious Place Vendôme in Paris. Beginning in May 2017, Rei Kawakubo was the subject of one of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's fashion exhibitions in New York. The Metropolitan Museum in New York's exhibition dedicated to Kawakubo was scheduled for the 2017 season from May 2017 through September 2017.
