Prada FW 2019 Womenswear (2)

Creative director, Miuccia Prada, has absolutely amazed me with her Fall/Winter 2019 Womenswear Collection for Prada. In my previous post, I showcased some of the military-inspired looks that caught my eye. However, I cannot truly do this collection justice as a fashion commentator without acknowledging that the edgy, grunge looks presented in this collection absolutely rocked! Miuccia Prada is a 73-year-old Italian fashion designer with familial ties to the popular brand. She is also founder of Prada's subsidiary brand, Miu Miu, which has traditionally appealed to the young adult market. In admiring the pieces from her 2019 Prada collection, there is definitely no such thing as an age limit placed on either of these fashion lines. Women of all ages can easily wear pieces from both Prada and Miu Miu.

♥ Part 2 of 2 ♥

Interestingly enough, a few years after Prada showcased the 2019 collection, the new Netflix sensation, Wednesday, immediately began a Prada shoe craze over the main character's goth shoes that can be seen from this collection. Wednesday is a Netflix series that is based off of the young female character from the morbid 1960's television sitcom, the Addams Family. The Netflix popular series began airing on November 23, 2022. Today, the Monolith lace-up shoes worn by the Netflix character Wednesday Addams can be purchased for $1,270. These shoes look fabulous on Jenna Ortega, the actress who plays the role of the main character of Wednesday. Whether you are rocking a cool grunge look or wearing a more tailored, uniform look, these leather shoes can help polish your look with a touch of luxurious quality.

And, yes, the combat boots and Cloudbust Thunder sneakers from this collection are also super fab and can be currently purchased directly from Prada!

MET Gala 2013: Chanel Iman

I was shocked when I stumbled across photos of Chanel Iman on the red carpet for this year's annual MET gala. She was in attendance at the Costume Institute Gala for the "PUNK: Chaos to Couture" exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 6, 2013 in New York City. I was shocked because she looked amazing - just so well put together and I haven't really seen any photos of her in a while.

For the 2013 MET gala, Chanel wore her hair in a beautiful partially braided style with pink highlights added to the tip of her hair. She has struggled over the years with her hair and now she is on point! The punk-theme for this year's MET gala obviously inspired her to try this new punkish hairstyle. She wore a dress by J. Mendel that suited her well (custom designed for her!) and gave her a very elegant, upper-class look. She accessorize with a hot pink clutch to match her hair highlights and chose to wear white strappy heels to be season-appropriate. The jewels that she wore are by Lorraine Schwartz.

There is one thing for sure about Chanel Iman and that is that she sure knows how to dress! Her well-manicured nails were trendy and added just the perfect spice to the look. She appeared happy, vibrant and just so at ease in these photos.

Once again Chanel Iman is HOT on the scene! How you like her NOW?!?

She seemed to be a party favorite as she was photographed with designer Gilles Mendel, model Cara Delevingne, model Liu Wen and even mega pop star Taylor Swift. I know that her buddy Kanye West performed at the gala so it was particularly interesting to see her chumming it up with Taylor Swift.
